Crystal and gold: how the Baccarat Sheep 2027 is made
The story of Baccarat begins in 1764 in Lorraine. For more than 260 years, the French manufactory has been shaping crystal, and this experience shows in the details of the sheep. The woolly coat has a delicate texture, and the rounded surfaces catch the light. Only three areas carry gold: the horns, eyes and nostrils, each applied with a brush. These few accents give the face expression and allow the clear body to keep its calm.
The Year of the Sheep in crystal
In the Chinese calendar, 2027 is the Year of the Sheep, which many translations also call the goat. Baccarat associates the animal with protection, harmony and inner peace. Allison Hawkes translates this symbolism into a composed, serene figure without superfluous ornament. At around 7.5 cm in height, 5.1 cm in width and about 10 cm in length, the crystal sheep fits on a console table, on a shelf or on a desk.
A gift with meaning
For people born in the Year of the Sheep, the figure makes a personal gift with clear symbolism. Those who collect Baccarat's zodiac figures continue the series with the Sheep 2027 after the Horse 2026. Displayed on its own or together with other crystal animal figures, the sheep makes its impression through form and light, not size.
