The Elgin decorative and upholstery fabric by Casamance combines the cozy feel of wool with high durability and versatile applications. Its timeless pattern and harmoniously coordinated color combinations lend curtains and upholstered furniture an authentic, pleasantly cozy feel.
Elgin is part of the Scotia collection, which is inspired by Scotland’s rich weaving tradition and landscapes. The fabric has a natural and comfortable feel, while its understated design complements modern, classic, and rustic interiors.
The fabric blend consists of 70% recycled wool, 25% polyamide, and 5% other fibers. The high wool content defines the warm, textile-like surface and ensures an authentic material feel. Polyamide enhances the fabric’s durability and stability.
With a weight of 405 g/m², Elgin has a substantial quality that makes it suitable for both decorative curtains and upholstery. The fabric brings visual and tactile warmth to the room and enhances a cozy atmosphere.
Casamance Elgin achieves 60,000 Martindale abrasion cycles and is therefore suitable for high-traffic upholstery. The wool fabric can be used for sofas, armchairs, chairs, benches, headboards, and decorative pillows.
Its high abrasion resistance makes the fabric ideal for furniture that is used regularly. At the same time, the surface retains a pleasant, textile feel and preserves the characteristic comfort of a high-quality wool fabric.
In addition to upholstery, Casamance Elgin is also recommended for curtains and Roman shades. The comparatively heavy fabric drapes expressively and Adds a touch of textile comfort to large window areas. Casamance describes Elgin as a wool fabric with flame-retardant properties. For use on seating furniture, the untreated fabric meets various international testing standards, including EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2.
When used as a flame-retardant curtain fabric, the standards required for the specific project must be verified. The curtain classifications listed by Casamance are achieved only after the fabric has undergone appropriate additional fire-retardant treatment. For public or commercial projects, the required certification should therefore be confirmed before placing an order
