A striking sign like a meteor shower whose gestural power had already been drawn on by informal art. This is traced using a pigment with a chalk-like consistency - a thin but three-dimensional patina - and combines an exploration of the celestial imagination, cave paintings and Egyptian hieroglyphics. The traditional frame printing technique ensures that it is applied to the matt Millais fabric, a compact panama made from British wool and Belgian linen.
