Kvadrat Broox is a piece-dyed dimout curtain fabric made from flame-retardant, recycled polyester. Its brushed surface recalls soft wool and gives the plain colour a calm, natural character. Kvadrat has Broox made in Japan and offers it in 12 shades, from Cool White to Dark Truffle.

Material and weave of Kvadrat Broox
Broox is woven from filament yarns in a dobby weave. The fabric owes its depth to the interplay of anionic and cationic yarns: in the piece-dyed cloth they create fine colour nuances that give the plain colour a slightly mottled look. The composition is 70% polyester FR (recycled), 16% polyester FR and 14% polyester, so the fabric is made entirely of a single material. With a width of 150 cm and shrinkage of approx. 0% in warp and weft, Broox can be reliably made up into curtains.
For Broox, Kvadrat states fire test results including DIN 4102 B1, EN 13773 Class 1, NF P 92-507 M1 and NFPA 701.
Light and acoustics in the room
As a dimout fabric, Broox softens incoming daylight without darkening the room. The palette ranges from light, mineral tones such as Cool White and Light Sand to strong shades such as Wild Berry and Dark Truffle.
Broox absorbs sound. In accordance with EN ISO 354, with a 100 mm distance from the wall the fabric achieves a weighted sound absorption coefficient of αw 0.90 (Class A) when pleated and αw 0.55 (Class D) when hung flat. Generously pleated curtains make the best use of this property.

Tip
Kvadrat points out that colour differences may occur between production batches. We therefore recommend ordering the quantity for one room in a single order where possible. For washing, the manufacturer recommends a half drum load and a mild detergent without optical brighteners.
