Kvadrat Daybreak 3 is a plain, semi-sheer curtain fabric designed by Patricia Urquiola for Kvadrat. Small, tactile irregularities give the open structure a linen-like look, even though the fabric is made entirely from recycled polyester.

Material and finish of Kvadrat Daybreak 3
Kvadrat weaves Daybreak 3 in a plain weave from filament yarn made from recycled post-consumer PET bottles. The result feels crisp and full-bodied and falls in sculptural folds. The fabric is made in Turkey and carries the EU Ecolabel. Kvadrat offers a 10-year guarantee on Daybreak 3.
The effect at the window
Urquiola took the soft light of morning as her inspiration. Because Daybreak 3 is semi-sheer, the curtain lets daylight softly into the room. Its character changes with the light: depending on the time of day, colour nuances and details of the structure become more distinct. The fabric width is 300 cm, and lightfastness is high.
Use in the home and in contract spaces
Kvadrat recommends Daybreak 3 for private rooms as well as for contract use. The manufacturer cites, among others, the tests EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0, DIN 4102 B1, NFPA 701 and IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 7. This makes the fabric suitable even where fire protection certification is required. The colour variants carry four-digit Kvadrat colour codes; slight differences between screen and fabric are possible.

Tip
Kvadrat recommends washing Daybreak 3 with the drum only half full. The manufacturer states shrinkage of approximately 1% in warp and weft; please take this into account when cutting your curtains.
