Cotton velvet upholstery fabric: the construction of Eternal
Velvet is made up of two layers: the base fabric, which carries the cloth, and the pile, which you see and touch. LIZZO Eternal has a 100% cotton pile on a base fabric of 89% cotton and 11% polyester. On the surface, you therefore feel only natural fibre.
The weight of 435 g/m² gives the fabric substance for upholstery covers. In the abrasion test, Eternal reaches 150,000 rubs. This figure indicates how many rubbing cycles the fabric withstands before visible wear appears, which makes it the most important measure for a covering fabric on heavily used furniture.
From sofa to curtain
LIZZO specifies five uses for Eternal: upholstery, covers, loose covers, cushions and curtains. You can therefore cover a sofa and dress the windows in the same room in the same quality. With a fabric width of 140 cm, you can plan your requirements for seat surfaces and curtain drops as you would with standard fabric sold by the metre.
As a plain velvet without a pattern, it blends into a room or sets a calm accent with a strong colour. The 27 variants are numbered from 01 to 39 and share the same composition, width and weight. It is best to choose the shade according to the piece of furniture and the lighting conditions.
